I am about two weeks away from leaving the lovely United States soil and starting an amazing experience in Thailand with three friends, Ryan, Anna, and Katie. Ryan and I will be leaving July 6th while Anna and Katie come around the 15th or 16th. My family has been praying for Ryan that he may have the strength and patience to travel with me haha! I have really been praying lately that God will shine through me to the kids and adults that we will end up working with, that I may be used as a vessel to his uncanny love, grace, and forgiveness that He gives to us. It will indeed be a spirtual battle preparing for this trip and being over there, which I have already begun to notice. Elections are also to be held on July 3rd in Thailand, which created much turmoil last year and are expected to be even worse this year. Last year no foreigners or Thai people were killed in any demonstrations, but we are paying close attention to the circumstances in Chiang Mai to ensure all safety while being there. The first thing I felt when I heard about when the elections were and how they were expected to be worse was, " Satan you can try to stop us and bring us down, but we will triumph over you". I felt as if Satan was trying to use it to scare us off, which we will not back down from.
